The Lopez Cup: Competition, Camaraderie & Play Happy!

There’s nothing like a little friendly competition to add some excitement to a round of golf!

October 1–3, Nancy Lopez Golf Adventures heads to ChampionsGate Golf Resort in Orlando, Florida for the Lopez Cup, where Team Zamboni and Team Powers will go head-to-head in three days of golf, camaraderie, team spirit and plenty of fun.

LPGA Professionals Teresa Zamboni and Sue Powers will lead their respective teams as they compete for points, bragging rights and, of course, the Lopez Cup. Adding to the fun, Nancy Lopez and Nancy Henderson will be on-site serving as Lopez Cup officials, keeping an eye on the competition while making sure everyone remembers the most important rule of the week: Play Happy!

Friendly Competition, the Play Happy! Way

Competition can bring out the best in us. It can make us focus a little harder, celebrate a great putt a little louder and perhaps feel a few more butterflies standing over an important shot.

But Nancy Lopez has always believed that playing your best and enjoying yourself can—and should—go hand in hand.

That’s the heart of the Play Happy! philosophy. Give every shot your best effort, but don’t let the outcome determine your attitude. Enjoy the challenge, appreciate the opportunity to play and remember to look around and enjoy the people sharing the experience with you.

The Lopez Cup is the perfect setting to put that philosophy into action.

Team competition also reminds us that golf doesn’t always have to be an individual sport. There’s something special about having teammates beside you—celebrating the good shots, encouraging you after the not-so-good ones and sharing plenty of laughs along the way.

At the end of the week, the points will be totaled, and one team will earn the right to call themselves Lopez Cup Champions.

Will it be Team Zamboni or Team Powers?

The competition may determine who takes home the Cup, but the friendships, memories and experiences are what everyone gets to take home.

And that’s a victory worth celebrating.
